About Me

“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Gal 2:20 NASB)

I’m just a poor country boy from the Mid-South who, by the grace of God, is what he is, nothing fancy, just a traveler, going “on to perfection”.

Raised in rural Mississippi, my life has been uneventful by most standards, but that’s just the way of things. In June of 1990, I married my high-school sweetheart and we have two beautiful children who remind us daily that God is good.

In October of 2003, I finally, after many years of defiance, surrendered to God’s call and am pursuing ordination in the United Methodist Church while serving as Local Pastor of Courtland UMC. I am also pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. Recently, I have developed a passion for poetry that is taking me in new and exciting directions. But, most of all, I just want to love God and neighbor, and help others experience the abundant life that God has promised.
